thus, following this logic my usual dj-nite at dynamo would go the following way - dress-wise: :D

1. i start with some jazz-funk fusion. i wear a white shirt, a dark tie and a black suit just like jimmy smith and just in case, to look cool, late 6ts/early 7ts style herbie hancock spectacles.

2. i switch to some modern soul, take a step backstage where i'll change my clothes. this time, a proper 7ts u.k. soul boy/suedehead style with a ben sherman checkered shirt, levi's sta prest jeans and either adidas samba trainers or loakes broques on my feet. i've also managed to grrow my hair a bit longer and noticeable sideburns as well.

3. from modern soul i switch to vocal garage and deep house, with maybe a bit of nu-jazz as well. outfit: trendy beckham-style haircut, a g-sus shirt, evisu jeans and retro gola trainers.

4. a passage via nu-jazz to house to modern soul, a bit heavier sound this time, leading to some deep deep funk. suddenly, i've gone via the backstage room again, and voilá! now i've got a shaved head exactly like mr keb darge, a sergio tacchini tennis shirt (red one), levi's jeans, worn and old adidas gazelle trainers.

5. deep funk brings old skool ghetto breaks to my mind, i play a bit scorpios, ashley's roachclips, apaches and stuff, thus moving to hip hop. not loving the jiggy style of p.diddy, i rather wear my osama bin laden-style camouflage u.s. m65 combat jacket, a baseball cap and baggy as fuck polo ralph lauren jeans. shoes: timberland, caterpillar or the like. style reference: guru at the back cover of gang starr's 'hard to earn' lp.

6. to northern soul via a bit of funk from the hip hop stuff. going back to dj booth from the dressing room backstage, my outfit this time: a proper wigan casino mid-seventies hooligan soul boy. shirt: a sleeveless t-shirt with a raised black fist and 'heart of soul: wigan casino' print on it, flared jeans and oxblood doc martens on my feet. the nite ender track: 'open the door to your heart' by darrell banks.

as you see, it's all about fashion. :D

LOL :D

who cares bout the music when the dj has the right style and image! ahem!

Now u guys hold on, i didnt mean that u need two styles to play diff. music, or that u should have an image for every fucking genre of music u play, stop playing idiots and on purpose 'missunderstanding' me.

I, ME, JAREA have two images when it comes to the genres I play. It has nothing to do with either fashion, nor djing skills, it's about what i feel comfortable in while I'm mixing.

And yes, the sad thng about this postm is people 'mocking' me for all i say or do... how about taking a real good look at yourselves eh? :(

I'm not mocking you Jarea. Some of the things you say are just so unorthodox to us old farts that they simply need clarification. Let me give you an example from your last post: It's about what i feel comfortable in while I'm mixing. I can perfectly understand that you choose to wear clothes you feel comfy in. However, I don't understand how the comfortable outfit you have chosen to wear for your d'n'b set suddenly becomes uncomfortable when you change the style of music you're playing? I mean, they still are the same clothes, aren't they?

cmon mate u know what she's on about with that... 'comfortable' as in fitting to the picture... for an example when Johnny Lee asked me to play in his new club 'Spank', he gave me a hint - 'oh, btw the Djs do not play in jeans in there... if you know what i mean?' ;] ... if a club/genre has a strong image of a certain dresscode, its easier and usually even more fun to obey that code when you go there, especially if youre up there in the booth playing...

i think Jarea is gorgeous lady (and im sure you'll agree with me Jokke? ;]) and i love to see gorgeous ladies dressing themselves to a situation and really putting effort into it... if its liquid latex when theyre dancing in the club podiums - great!... if its baggy cargo pants and a cool t shirt when theyre spinning jungle - im all wax!!! :D :004:

yeh and more props to hexasonik for the style tipz, great stuff!!! :001:

FEELING LUCKY, LUKE?

well- didn't get offended.
let's see- last time i checked- this was miss jarea- NORWAYS only hh dj- thread. so what are u talking about. 1 geografical comment. norway is NOT in finland. are you an artist then? never heard of you.
and yet still, i was only targeting miss jarea with that comment, cause she was moaning how everyone is soooo mean to her, so i thought that MAYBE we should kill the topic and end her suffering.

or.... then i was joking. judge 4 ye self. :D
