Henrik Kantola has been a stalwart in progressive beats for a long time having been on labels like Spinnin Records, Blackhole, Baroque and more recently Bonzai Music. He has appeared on many compilations and remixed lots of tunes under the Green Martian, Camouflage, Fourty 5, Nemesis, Subtraxx and Eyepatch labels.
Now Henrik releases his second artist album on Bonzai Progressive, "Make It Happen". Two years after his first album on the same label "Wrongside Business", we are treated to a stunning trek through the different shades of progressive house and Balearic vibes.
First up we have the "Balearic Mix" of the title track "Make It Happen" which is full of island pleasures, cool, sophisticated and laid back prog grooves, tight production blends a host of awesome sounds, chunky kick, grooving bass, sultry vocals and swaying synth pads all make for an evening on the terraces.
"Ibiza Soul (2012)" provides the back drop for lazy days sitting in a cafe on the beachfront, pure house vibe with a sweet melody on the break create a nice groove to chill the day away.
"Penny Is A Slut" beefs up the tempo for a cracking ride into prog house, sharp crisp percs and an offset bass build up to a tight rolling progressive groove, classic house stabs on the break keeps the listener hooked.
Going deeper in the with the next track, "Midnight". Slightly more tribal and techy influence while retaining a solid progressive sound, lots of quality FX on this and a real catchy groove.
"Steal The Sunset" brings in a stabby house vibe with cool chords and a great rhythm, tight drums and classic buzz synth sound. Perfect fodder for the terraces on an early evening.
"Don't You Know" pulls in the darker prog house vibe, well constructed rhythm with nice deep basses and sharp perc sounds, backed up with brilliant FX this is a tune that will gain a lot of support and fill up plenty of air time.
Funky grooves abound on "Terrace", pure quality house vibe with all you'd expect on a tune like this, exactly the type of tune that gets any club on the bounce. Clean sharp stabs, well pitched strings and a groovy bassline, perfect.
Deep prog time again with "Late Night Flat Line", cool sound for an already buzzing crowd. Hypnotic bassline and sweeping pads with tight percussions all make for a quality progressive monster.
Next we have a special remix of an all time trance classic which has been given the magic Chantola progressive touch. "Universal Nation (Chantola's Deep Nation 2012 Remix)" starts off in a nice subtle groove, building upon the sound with smooth synths and a chunky bass, the break down brings in that classic melody and euphoria takes over, very well constructed remix.
Finally is "Another Day At The Dream Factory" a fitting end on this inspired album, lighthearted approach with bright sounds a constant steady groove provided by a nice chunky bass and tight kicks.
Again we see Chantola prove his talent with amazing production skills and inspired vision with his sound.
