WEGEZ & NIC'SILVER DIMENSION, HELSINKI VIBES
Wegez aka Veli-Pekka Vuorela is born in Lappeenranta on the 27th of July 1984 and NicSilver aka Niko Silventoinen is born in Pieksämäki on the 30th of March 1984. They lived their childhood in different cities. But by the time they were in sixth grade, Niko's family moved to Lappeenranta and he went to the same school with Vellu but in a parallel class. After primary school they went to the same secondary school and in ninth grade they met each other in a school video project. Immediately they realized that they had something in common...and that was trance. So they started listening to great trance tracks together and even got a bit of inspiration to produce own tracks. In 2001 they started trying to produce something own and unique but their production skills werent very good. Soon they forgot the production idea and continued just listening to trance and getting new ideas for their own unique sound. And soon thereafter, in 2002, they got an idea that they want to be DJs.
In 2003 they arranged private parties in Lappeenranta. The same year they also went to the Finnish army together. They had then a good time together thinking about their future plans. Vellu was in the army only for 6 months and when he had his 'TJ0' (TJ is a Finnish army slang abbreviation for indicating the amount of days left in the service) party on the 9th of January 2004 the boys started their 1st own club event called Club LOAS. Club LOAS was a club event in Lappeenranta in a students club room and only for the inside friends. But in the spring of 2004 they realized that they want to arrange something bigger, better and that they want to play for massive crowds someday and with Club LOAS that couldnt come true. So they started arranging their 1st real Club nights. The Club nights were like undergound parties in the centre of Lappeenranta called ClubZero. ClubZero was running from spring to autumn 2004. And in autumn 2004 Vellu and Niko desided that that wasnt enough so they started a bigger club called Senzation with some of their friends. 1st Senzation arranged only underground parties in Lappeenranta but soon in the beginning of 2005 they got a Clubnight in Imatra and held their 1st nightclub party at Nitetrain, Imatra. The party was awesome and the club was packed full with dancing clubbers. After that it was easy to get new clubs in their hometown Lappeenranta. They arranged one party at a nightclub called Cannibals. But after that night they got a resident club place at Nitetrain in Lappeenranta and started arranging monthly Senzation club nights there.
In the autumn of 2004 Niko moved to Espoo because his studies started there. And pretty soon after that in the spring of 2005 Vellu followed him and moved to Helsinki to work. And so they desided to end the Senzation story. One night after Vellus work they were at Nikos place thinking that their dj-gigs were ending because they dont have any resident places anymore as they had ended all their club projects. So they thought and thought and at 2am that same night they got an idea to start up a new club of their own in Helsinki. And that was the birth of Dimension. Now Vellu & Niko host Club Dimension and they play at every Dimension event.
In the summer of 2006 Vellu & Niko got in touch with one of the biggest Nightclubs in Helsinki called Stockholm Diskotek. Soon they arranged their 1st Dimension event there. And after that they got their 1st bigger touch of heaven, when the HelsinkiVibes guys contacted them and wanted to co-arrange a party together at Stockholm Diskotek. In the summer of 2006 Dimension also got an another venue called nightclub Tillikka. And now they are running a monthly trance club at Tillikka with great expectations. In autumn 2006 the boys started co-operating with the HelsinkiVibes guys and are now also a part of HelsinkiVibes.
The future looks great for Wegez & NicSilver, because they are still young and the rising is very fast. They have the whole world open in front of them. Their music style is from progressive till uplifting trance with kicking beats. In the future you can maybe even hear some of their own production. At the moment the boys are training to produce their own songs/tracks at the studio...
