Andreas Saag (aka. Swell Sessions)
Swell Session is Andreas Saag from Gothenburg in Sweden, with invited guest-musicians. Andreas is the mastermind behind the music and has been making music since early childhood, he went to musical college in Sweden and are now signed to, not only Hollow Recordings, but also to Samuel L Session's techno label: SLS - doing some really funky dope-ass techno.
The first single from Swell Session was the A Swell Session and The music in her eyes. This, the first release on Hollow, was one of the most unexpected and yet well-received singles of 2001. It sold out in four days and has been repressed five times after that. A perfect blend of latin, jazz, funk, soul and broken beat. The voice of Yukimi Nagano struck many right in the heart and melted it
After the first single the ball was rolling and requests from all over the world came in and suddenly the tracks were on a lot of high quality compilations (see discography). Hollow and Swell Session started to put Sweden and Gothenburg on the musical map of future nu-jazz and broken beat.
During the same time Swell Session made a well appreciated remix for Shur-I-Kan and soon after Andreas signed for Freerange to release music under the guise of Stateless.
It was also during this period that the techno wizard Samuel L Session, who shares offices with Hollow, started to talk with Andreas regarding his more techno infused music and soon after, a deal was struck and now hes releasing on SLS under his christen name: Andreas Saag. This, his mix of jazz, funk and groovy techno, has made a new contribution to the scene.
