DJ ORKIDEA: A PLACE CALLED HAPPINESS MIX CD RELEASE TOUR
On 16th of November Universal Music will continue where DJ Orkideas
successful Taika album left at. A Place Called happiness is
Orkideas debut mix CD featuring unique selection of deeper progressive
and energetic trance. Mix features tracks and remixes by DJ Tiesto,
Way Out West, Andy Moor, Junkie XL, Slusnik Luna, Super8, Dallas
Superstars Marc Mitchell and Orkidea himself. CD features many
exclusive tracks and remixes made especially for this compilation as
well as some of this years biggest tracks.
DJ Orkidea will do a three month tour around Finland touring all major
cities and clubs. Included are dates at Hallmark, House Nation, Fury &
Illumination and the tour will close with Orkidea Live PA at Laserpoint
2006 event at Merikaapelitehdas in Helsinki. The line-ups at these events
will feature the creme de la creme of finnish DJs including Proteus,
Elliot Ness, DJ Tab, Dallas Superstars, Mr.A, Indigo, Genki and Poliisi.

In 2006 DJ Orkidea has been DJing for 15 years. He is resident DJ at
Club Unity in Helsinki and has toured the world so far in 18 countries:
Berlin, Amsterdam, Ibiza and Tokyo Orkidea has released various
own singles and remixed DJ Tiesto, Tilt and Way Out West. These
productions have been played by Sasha, Tiesto and Oakenfold, his
music has been on Ministry of Sound, Renaissance and Gatecrasher
CDs and has DJed with Chemical Brothers, Paul van Dyk, Tiesto,
Sven Väth, Jose Padilla and The Prodigy. Orkidea has also made
music and sound design for various award winning movies,
advertisements, computer games and theater plays.

DJing schedule takes him around the world every month. Being
voted in DJ Mags Top 100 in 2005 was sign of the constant rise of
this finnish phenomena. Proteus has been DJing for 10 years, is
resident at his own Säde night at Gloria, has headlined worlds
largest dance events like Dance Valley and Creamfields and has
recently released various hard dance 12 singles and his debut
mix CD. Proteus will join Orkidea at Laserpoint main stage line-up
in February 2006.

Hessu Liimatainen and Jaakko Salovaara form together Dallas
Superstars, one Finlands finest dance exports. Their singles
Helium and Fast Driving have been on Swedish & Finnish Dance
Charts #1 and UK dance chart Top 20. Their music has been
supported by the likes of Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules, Tiesto, Pete
Tong and Ferry Corsten. They have just finished their second
artist album which will be released early 2006. They are also
responsible for such familiar artists production as Darude,

Elliot Ness was resident DJ of Finland´s first techno club and the
first Finnish DJ to perform abroad. He has been DJing since 1987
all over Europe and was the first Scandinavian DJ to appear
abroad at worlds largest events such as Love Parade, Mayday,
Universe and DMC World Championships where he twice won
third place. He has played alongside Prodigy and Public Enemy
and promoted legendary events such as Planet of Love, House
Nation and Members of Mayday. Elliot will join various dates
during the tour to give the audio his unique twisted and driving
house and techno experience

Mr.A is The Grand Don of finnish house scene at the moment.
Running, promoting and playing those much praised 6h sets at
his weekly Danceteria night at Birdie in Helsinki has taken his
career once again one step further. In a long list of steps going
from pioneering the hard house scene at Doom and Pump clubs
held at legendary Nylon and DTM, bringing fresh music at his
VooDoo night with world-class guest DJs like Desyn Masiello,
DJing all around Finland from Screen, Kerma and Koneisto to
Unity and Ministry of Sound events. Mr.A has been selected
as 'Best DJ in Helsinki' in City Magazine. He has also been getting
into production lately and his collaboration with Miika Kuisma:
'Smokey Room' has already been picked to Fokused label. Mr.A
has also been playing regularly abroad especially in Northern
Europe and as his productions have been played by likes of
John Digweed so we can only expect the grooving to continue...
