Long time acolyte and star DJ Dave Seaman brings his very own Therapy Sessions to Renaissance. The 2 x CD will feature Dave and fast-rising Australian wunderkind Phil K…

Dave Seaman has been very busy since his last release on Renaissance (Masters Series – Desire (April 2001). Aside from touring the world he has been focusing on establishing his own ‘Therapy’ brand, an umbrella for his DJ agency, parties and record label. As you may expect, all have been met with feverish anticipation, with the record label boasting an immediately impressive rosta of talent, with featured tracks and remixes from Infusion, Junkie XL and Charlie May. ‘Renaissance presents Therapy Sessions’ will be the first major album from this relatively new venture and, in order to get things started with a bang, Dave has enlisted the help of his Australian agency mate, Phil K.

Little wonder, Phil is the undoubted superstar DJ of tomorrow, being widely acknowledged by DJs such as Sasha and Anthony Pappa as ‘technically the best in the world’. Sasha further confirmed as much when he highlighted Phil as his one to watch in his recent ‘Top 100 DJs’ interview. And the praise doesn’t stop there, Phil was recently awarded ‘Best Mix Album’ for 2003 at the prestigious Australian Dance Awards.

With release set for late March, both DJs are currently locked in the studio putting the finishing flourishes on their respective mixes. As Dave points out, “From the sourcing (over seven hundred tracks were considered), to the compiling, pre-mixing, licensing (you never know which tracks your going to be able to use, which can sometimes take you straight back to the drawing board!), more pre-mixing, fixing, recording, play back, editing, remixing, additional production and over dubs... it's a process to test the patience of a saint.”

A lengthy process indeed, but one that we know will be well worth it! Keep your eyes peeled for the first posting of the official tracklisting in the coming weeks…
