PROGRESSION - EYE1 RADIO 'GUEST MIX'

"Ladies & Gents...

The following one hour Guest Mix was compiled and mixed specifically for Chantola's 'I BRING MY OWN BACKGROUND MUSIC' radio show. My set was initaially broadcast on Wednesday 17th March 2010 on 'EYE1Radio'.

The emphasis of the mix was predominantly on classic re-works with a few other beauties thrown in. Something beginning deep yet pushing towards the energetic genres to celebrate the WMC Warm-up Radio Episode.

As per usual, the mix isn't built on super-upfront tunes that currently sit in Beatport's charts. This is more a selection of tunes accross the board that not only take my fancy but also merge into a musical journey.

As a DJ I can admit to liking the "instrumental" mixes of tracks. However, in this compilation i've managed to squeeze in a fair amount of vocal tracks (or tracks with vocal samples).

From Deep House to Progressive House: Sit back, download and enjoy as this mix can certainly be utilised in a party mode as Finland celebrates VAPPU 2010!

Cheers, Progression

Nice mix, pleasure to listen. Summerfish never goes out of fashion. Cowgirl remix was also one of the highlights along with My Lexicon remix. Recommended for Wappu, groovy and not too deep :)

Cheers mate :)

I'll totally agree about Leonid Rudenko's "Summerfish". Time after time it sounds so energetic and fresh. One of those tracks that set any dancefloor on fire!

Tim Davison's re-work of Underworld's "Cowgirl" is a beauty too! Whilst he was over playing for LCS in March 2009 he explained how long it took to make. Quite a slow and painstaking job as it was made from chopping the original to pieces! ...then re-making a complete version from it!. He did the same process for the remixes of Chemical Brothers "Block Rockin' Beats" and "Hey Boy Hey Girl".

Looking forward to hearing you at LCS this coming June. With yourself and Stevie Jones onboard, I believe we are in for a night of seriously upfront tunage! Roll on June 11th ;)

I listened this while working, and everything seemed to be allright.. Which was brilliant! It took me to a completily different place and working was fun again. *pepsodent*

Great mix, a bit out of my usual genres, but I liked it. *tähti**tähti**tähti**tähti**tähti*

Hola!

Happy to hear you appreciated the mix despite it being away from your normal genre range. It's pretty pumping stuff but still holds the slower bpm. The mix is a blend of tunes I would play towards the earlier hours of an event as well as the more 'pumpin' peak times.

Here's hoping it cranks up the working mood many a' time more :)
