A recently made historical deal between Basso and Helsinki based club Renegade promises wicked events for friends of urban rhythm music. The collaboration will be seen and heard in the different Basso medias, as well as in the city streets and nightlife. The starting venues will be Restaurant Kaivohuone with it's terrace, Studio 51 and Stockholm Diskotek.
Our residents represent Finlands finest in drum&bass and breaks, with Muffler, Infekto, Genki and Femi joining the Renegade family, in addition to Xploitec visuals.
Apart from the foreign artists already revealed, later on you can expect names such as Grandmaster Flash, Jazzy Jeff and Afrika Bambaata. So we're really talking heavyweight business here.

PENDULUM
PENDULUM was formed in mid-2002 by three people from Australia with similar visions and musical backgrounds. Their mission was to pool together their production resources, ideas and influences from other styles of music to create a new sound that they felt was missing from drum and bass. A style that could only be described as intelligent dancefloor - music that could smash a dancefloor apart yet still have a deep long-lasting impact.
The initial result of this collaboration was the seminal 'Vault', released this year on 31 Records. 'Vault' went on to become one of the biggest anthems of 2003, winning the Knowledge Magazine award for 'Best Single of 2003' - an honour which cemented PENDULUM in the drum and bass history books.
PENDULUM continued with a series of followups including 'Trail of Sevens' (Renegade Hardware), 'Spiral' and 'Ulterior Motive' (Concord Dawn's Uprising Records), 'Back to You' and 'Still Grey' (Timeless Recordings), and a remix of 'Tonite' by Concord Dawn (Funktion Recordings). 2 heavyweight DJ's supporting the sound of PENDULUM were Adam F and DJ Fresh from Bad Company UK. The PENDULUM sound gained their attention so much that they asked PENDULUM to join the recently formed BREAKBEAT KAOS and form a tight crew of like minded musicians. PENDULUM then went on to record their debut single for BREAKBEAT KAOS, the huge 'Another Planet' backed with 'Voyager'.
2004 will see PENDULUM release an LP on BREAKBEAT KAOS and they will then concentrate exclusively with this label alongside DJ Fresh and Adam F. In their first year of existance, PENDULUM have smashed dancefloors globally, and their DJ sets are a reflection of the freshest drum and bass music being produced today. Their selection is diverse and energetic, covering all angles of the drum and bass genre with an emphasis on future sounds. Big beats and twisting basslines designed to make you move!!
MC VERSE (UK)
MC Verse's career in Drum and Bass started in 1996. Based in Leeds, he secured his first residency (which ran for five years) at a night called DOPE (Development Of Progressive Energy). It was at one of these nights that Verse met Clayton from Trouble On Vinyl and since 1998 Verse has been working alongside various DJs across London, Europe and the world. He performs throughout the UK and extensively throughout Europe, Japan, America and Canada.
Verse holds residencies in London at The End for Renegade Hardware & Ram. He also works regularly at Fabric, Bar Rumba, Colosseum and the Mass. Working for major labels in Drum and Bass has given Verse the opportunity to MC alongside A list DJs in the scene.
Verse's musical influences come from the broad spectrums of music today, hip-hop through to acid jazz, funk and dub. In 2003 Verse worked as the mc for Suv (full cycle) On his live show. In the studio, Verse has had releases on Renegade Hardware , Refuge Audio, Outbreak , Sanctuary and Architecture and in 2004 Verse launched Crunch Recordings, his own label.
In the studio he has collaborated with D-Kay (crunch 001 ), Keaton (crunch002) and D-Bridge on the (crunch003) forthcoming collaborations include Bad Company UK , Loxy and Ink, Rhyme Tyme and Dom and Roland. Each release features a collaboration on one side and a solo track by Verse on the flip.
Verse has gained from and built upon the experience that comes with the work he has done on stage and in the studio.Verse is currently working on material for his debut album. His mc ing style is original and unique and he has the ability to read and analyse a set, complementing the music without stressing it and working up the crowd whatever language they may speak.
