DJ DIZZY (nine2five recordings, YleX) ::
One of the early ones to catch the jungle fever in the early 90's, Dizzy set up Straight Up Breakbeat: the first regular drum & bass night in Finland, later to become the first Finnish drum&bass label. Soon after that, he set up nine2five recordings with his friends, to become an outlet for the stream of music coming his way from dozens of young producers.
Guesting at clubs & venues such as Perverted Science @ 333, Hospitality @ Herbal, Trans Europe Express @ ICA and Beach @ Notting Hill Arts Club (London), Batofar (Paris), Berns & Tranan (Stockholm), and even the legendary Gilles Peterson Worldwide show, he's taken the Northern drum & bass and broken beat sound all around Europe.
With the nationwide drum&bass show being the longest running specialist show on the Finnish radio, he's the last man standing of the original Helsinki school of jungle, having shared the decks with the likes of Goldie, Fabio, Grooverider, Photek, Roni Size, Krust, Dj Hype, Zinc, Bryan G, London Elektricity, Aquasky, Micky Finn, DJ SS and dozens of others.
JONNY BRO ::
Jonny is a 22-year-old, multitalented musician who plays with a sampler, the decks and even the keyboard. During his career hes had the opportunity to produce the debut albums of the likes of Ezkimo, Skandaali and Urbaanilegenda, plus a variety of remixes and tracks on other artists albums.
Jonny has done many collaborations with foreign artists, and had for example the RZA (Wu-Tang Clan), Tha Alkaholiks, Freestyle (Arsonists) and Shabazz The Disciple perform on his releases.
Jonny has been performing his sets since 1998 and travelled to Ivalo and Amsterdam, and everywhere in between.
CHEMISTRY & INTROUBLE (Usva) ::
They are the core of the collective Usva, and have been pushing the drum'n bass scene through new boundaries in Turku and in Jyväskylä. They are the resident DJs of Wake-Up and this time they will perform a set back2back providing the soundscapes of liquid to funky and beyond.
CHRIS ROBIN (J-Funk) ::
One of the charming members of the J-Funk -collective, Chris Robin lived from 2002-2004 in the floating paradise island of Madeira, Portugal. Playing residencies in two of the most innovative clubs of the island, he was the first ever DJ to play drum'n bass there.
Since his return to Finland, Chris has continued organizing the ever-so-popular Vinylo nights, as well as teaming up with the Usva bassheads, thrusting forth the funky liquid vibe.
