RONY REX BIO:
Rony Rex - remember the name. Just a few years ago Rony was wrecking speakers at house parties and discovering his love for playing music. Since then he has progressed to throwing his own club nights and now even to making his debut in the international scene last summer. And there is a clear reason for this evolution: raw passion. It all started out with a simple DJ software, which was enough to get Rony hooked on DJing for good. Due to his incredible motivation, Rony’s skills developed fast and eventually in spring 2010 he got the opportunity to move on from playing at house parties to showcasing his talent at an actual club. This first club gig took place at a private party in Playground, Helsinki. The club owner was so impressed with Rony’s style that he decided to let Rony arrange his very own club night in Playground. At that point it became undoubtedly clear that DJing is what Rony is born to do - with the confidence of a true Rex.
Without any prior connections, Rony soon started getting more and more gigs, got to know the club scene of Helsinki and slowly managed to establish his name as a DJ. In the summer of 2012 he launched a new club concept, Floorluv, together with Cut & Slice. Thanks to the success of Floorluv, Rony also earned his place as a regular DJ in Helsinki House Nights, which was voted as the second best club concept in Finland in 2012. With over a hundred gigs played during the year 2012, he then became the resident DJ of the R3D club in February 2013.
Now Rony has already rocked almost every notable nightclub in Helsinki and performed on the same stage e.g. with Starkillers, Danny Avila, Uto Karem, Maison & Dragen, Jeremy Olander, Orkidea, Darude and Heavyweight DJ's. Last summer he also played at two major Finnish festivals: Weekend Festival and Neverland Festival. What’s more, Rony made his international debut in July, when he toured around Croatia with The Yacht Week. This fall the hype keeps on escalating to new heights as gig invitations roll in from around Finland as well as from abroad. Rony has been referred to as one of the most promising upcoming DJs in Finland, so there’s no doubt you will be hearing about this guy a lot in future.
If you want to see what the true fire of inspiration and passion looks like, just go and see Rony play. As soon as he steps up on the stage and takes over the decks, all the fire inside him just starts flowing out. No matter where he is playing, it is always an experience that the audience will remember. Not too many people manage to turn their passion into a profession and an entire lifestyle, and only a handful of those people are able to affect others’ lives with their own work. But with the passion and skills that Rony has, he can touch people in one single night. And he is only getting started. So remember the name: Rony Rex.
