FEMME EN FOURRURE

Taking influences from the minimalism of Detroit techno and the dancefloor grooves of early house music and disco, Femme En Fourrure make music that is explicitly uncompromising.

Consisting of Juuso and Bianca and hailing from Helsinki, Finland, FEF is an act that emphasizes foremost style in their musical output - and distinguished imagery. Still, they don't wish to take themselves too seriously, and also this is evident in the most important aspect of all. The music.

Minimal yet lush, both airy and bass-heavy, bringing au courant into established, topped with candid sultry lyrics, their tracks induce a force to be reckoned with. World class DJ's such as Brodinski, Sinden, Radio Slave and Stretch Armstrong are just a few examples of those who have played and embraced the sounds of Femme En Fourrure.

BENDAGRAM

Bendagram emerged from the needs of two individuals to create something unheard of. Two separate ideas came into one when after years of planning to make the music of their minds, Lauri Solin and Pekka Tynkkynen met by coincidence at the latter's art exhibition opening and realized they have a common agenda. And a shared vision.

Bendagram have ever since been on an investigation to develop a singular, pop music reshaping sound. Their ingredients of choice are as disparate as alternatively tuned guitars in the vein of such American pioneers as Sonic Youth or Glenn Branca, and the warm, bouncing, rubber insulated electronic beats and synths that challenge the club sounds of the contemporary. On top are the deeply penetrating vocals. Someone once claimed hearing a male version of Kate Bush mixed with African pygmy chant. Unlikely combinations maybe, but it's like opening MTV in 1993; one minute, there's Nirvana and the next, Boyz II Men, but looking back now it seems like those two only merge into happy memories. And despite standing on the shoulders of strange giants, Bendagram's essence lies in their will to create impeccable, catchy, uncompromising pop songs.

For having released only one little hint of what is to come — the stunning, guitar infected house tune "Headlights" — Bendagram has gained quite a fair share of attention with their intensive live sets at Helsinki’s main concert venues. This was also recently noticed by Finnish music critics, who listed Bendagram in Helsingin Sanomat, the main national newspaper, as one of Finland's most promising new acts. "Headlights" has also received nice airplay on Radio Helsinki. The band is planning to release their debut album in 2012.
