LAURI SOINI a.k.a. 80's COP
If you have visited some of the better clubs in Helsinki or ended up in a goofy theme party, there's a good chance you've heard laser disco, vintage italo and the latest electronic treats delivered by Lauri Soini a.k.a. 80's Cop. One of the most active figures in the Finnish electronic music scene, Lauri has brought Aeroplane, Fred Falke, Daniel Wang and a whole lot of other artists from such labels as Full Pupp, DFA, Clone, Kompakt and Valerie to move the Finnish dance music crowd while being involved with numerous club nights, events, and festivals.
When not deejaying in a club, you can most likely find him dwelling in the studio, constantly working on new tracks to stir up the dancefloor with. Lauri produces music both on his own and as one half of hannulelauri, which he formed with the Finnish house music veteran DJ Ender. The duo has already played at the biggest domestic electronic music festivals, remixed a bunch of contemporaries and received praises not only from enthusiastic music bloggers, but from the father of cosmic disco himself, Daniele Baldelli as well. Their debut release is going to be out soon on Flexx, the Belgian label known for their superb catalogue of electronic disco. A hannulelauri track will also be included on Top Billin's forthcoming Nightrunners EP.
