"Csaba Lumnitzer; aka: Jay Lumen, began his close relationship with music as a child when he played the violin in a conservatoire for eight years. This musical grounding provided Jay with an excellent technical foundation to add momentum to his music compositions. Jay’s early musical productions consisted of simple conversions from classical authors. However, he recognised that his desire to push the boundaries and produce more creatively diverse music were not satisfied with a purely classical instrument. Jay Lumen turned to the use of a synthesizer. In combination with the purchase of a computer and software he took his first steps to producing electronic music.

After years and years of hard graft, moving through various softwares and relying on self-teaching methodology, Jay Lumen has now progressed to become one of electronic music's, and Hungary’s fastest new generation DJ/Producers. As a producer, Jay Lumen has effortlessly churned out almost 50 top-class tracks which have been released on the finest dance music labels: Baroque Recordings, Global Underground, Ministry Of Sound, Audio Therapy, Lost Language, Electronic Elements, Anjunadeep, Armada, Pilot6, Curvve, and Extrema. The list flows on and is certainly set to grow!

Of Jay Lumen’s 50 solo productions, many have been playlisted on major weekly radioshows. Armin Van Buuren’s ’A State Of Trance’ being one of the most prolific. Episode 294 featured ’Jay Lumen – Circulation’. Episode 343 included Baroque released ’Ultra’. Episode 349 saw Armin kick off with Anjunadeep released track: ’Calypso’. Calypso proved to be such a successful release that it was number 1 on Beatports progressive chart section for 4 weeks! Lumen has also received a guest mix invite to Above & Beyonds ’Trance Around The World’. Episode 217 saw his mix broadcasted.

Lumen’s tracks have also been signed to several major electronic music compilations: ’GU Mixed: Volumes 2 and 3’ (Global Underground), ’Synchronised 2’ (Global Underground), ’Godskitchen Underground’ (New State), ’Clubbers Guide To Progressive House’ (Ministry Of Sound), ’Housexy: Summer In The City’ (Ministry Of Sound), ’Opus’ (Black Hole Recordings) and ’Bagrooves: The Black Collection’ (Seamless / Absolute).

In June 2007 major UK label ’Baroque Records’ asked Jay Lumen to produce ’Volume 2’ of the Baroque Elements album series. Jay spent over 6 months of intensive work in the studio and by early February 2008, his dream was fulfilled with the official release of his first double album! The 2-disk compilation featuring one mixed CD and one unmixed for DJ use. Jay defines the album as his DJ and Producer sides merged into one package. The album received high recognition and was 11th position in the British Plastic Music Chart leaving behind big names such as ’The Orb’. It also jumped straight to 1st position of the Juno top 10 download chart.

As a ever increasingly successful DJ, Jay Lumen span his first gig during school when he was just 14 years old. Playing his favourite tracks from vinyl and bringing in the crowds, Jay was recognised to have a talent behind the decks. Persistently following the technical development of other DJ’s, and receiving more promo’s, he soon changed from vinyl to using CD’s. These days his sets typically build from the musical basis of house, tech-house, and progressive house. His sound supported by dynamic, pulsating grooves which are also clearly heard in his compositions.

Jay Lumen has travelled the continents and played at some of the most prestige clubs in countries such as: Austria, Serbia, Poland, Egypt, India, England, Russia, Bulgaria, Dubai, etc… Expect class in its highest form as this December Liquid Crystal Sounds bring Jay Lumen to debut in Finland. "For many followers of Progressive House, Jay Lumen will need very little introduction. His recent productions released on Anjunadeep, Baroque, Global Underground and Armada (to name just a handful) have also been playlisted on Huge DJ radio shows such as Markus Schulz's GDJB, Armin van Buuren's ASOT and Above & Beyonds 'Trance Around The World'. However, for those of you who haven't heard any productions, here is a small list of clips that you can listen to. It at least gives an insight into his abilities as a producer and a pre-taster of the style of music he will play at Liquid Crystal Sounds "Establishment" on December 13th... :)

"Liquid Crystal Sounds (LCS) is the first all British electronic music club event organization to operate in Finland. LCS was established over two years ago by DJ’s Progression from London, and Ali King from Northern Ireland. Over fourteen events later the club has gone from strength to strength! LCS resident DJ Mark Kinnier currently lives in Belfast and upholds strong connections with the UK clubbing scenes. In turn, this has enabled LCS to import some top class progressive house DJ’s.

LCS prides itself on bringing alternative headline DJ’s. Something different, something special, something that fits into a niche area.. Not the popular “brand-name” DJ’s that feature on every DJ magazine front cover. We strive to provide underground music. Mainstream is not a word in our vocabulary.
