DJ Tokunaga (Womb , Amate Raxi - Tokyo)
Tokunaga has been strongly involved in the club scene of Tokyo since
1999. He had just returned from London, where he was studying at the
London College of Fashion and like many others, got infected with the
sounds of electronica surrounding him. On his return Tokunaga
immediately launched "Sound Collection" , a once a month night at the
infamous CODE nightclub in Tokyo and started booking some of his
favorite DJs into Japan. Sound Collection happened to be the first
place where then unknown stars like Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Mauro
Picotto and DJ Orkidea got their debut in Japan.
In his three years as the resident of Sound Collection, Tokunaga
gained a big following in Japan and opened doors to the rest of the
world. He has been invited to play at some of the worlds top venues,
such as Privillege and Space in Ibiza, Space in Miami, Gatecrasher
and Slinky in the UK, Double 66 in Bali and Liquid Room in Singapore.
Always looking to stay fresh and original, Tokunagas sound has
evolved towards a deeper and more techno infected style, which has
resulted in a residency at Womb, one of the worlds most respected
clubs. He sites Hernan Cattaneo, Steve Lawler and Loco Dice as some
of his favorite artists and keeps on proving and surprising crowds,
wherever he goes.
So join us on this flight to the land of the rising sun, when Tokunaga is
joined by his dear friend Orkidea and the head captain of Aero, Juju!
