THE STORY My father called me about a year ago and asked me to join him to Nepal for his 60th birthday to help the needy. I did not have to think twice.
I put a lot of time into thinking how I could do the most while there. Should I go and work with the locals in the fields or help an organization in building a school? I'm actually really bad in those type of things, so I went back to basics. What am I best at doing and where do I flourish?
Since I first visited a house club at the age of 16, I have constantly wanted to create and share memorable moments through music and collective experiences. And for the last 16 years I have been working as a DJ, event producer and promoter of things I believe in. So that is exactly what I decided I will do on my trip to Nepal.

ARTSKIDCANDOArtsKidCanDo is a Finnish non-profit organization, that sponsors and runs camps and events for street children in Nepal. Giving the children experiences and outlets that help them cope with the poverty and uncertainty they face in their everyday lives. Through music, dance and love, these children find joy in simply being kids.

THE ACTION AND THE FUNSounds and images break language barriers, make people smile and in many cases inspire them to create. I believe that playing with what we might consider ‘everyday gear’, in a place that might think of them as weird machines from the future, will result in a lot of fun and excitement. Aside from the immediate satisfaction and lessons that we might learn from each other, I hope that capturing these moments and presenting them to a large social network, will ignite a viral effect of giving more, to the ones that have so little.

HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?You can either fly to Kathmandu, buy a ticket for the event and join the party. If you can't do that, then you can still buy a virtual ticket and follow what is going on through my artist page. I will be posting photos, music clips and my experiences up there.
Spreading the word is another very helpful and important aspect you can participate through. Sharing is caring. So please like it, share it, link it, mail it and talk about it to your loved ones.
Tickets to the party cost as much as you can give. All proceeds will go directly towards purchasing musical instruments to the many schools, orphanages and shelters in and around Kathmandu.
