Media artist Jukka Hautamäki (b. 1971 Oulu) works with found materials, electronics, sound, light and video. Hautamäki's sound performances are microscopic studies into electronic sound. Hautamäki is interested in the concept of "forced" improvisation, manifesting in his intentional use of difficult interfaces, and turning chaos and trash-aesthetics into instruments of live electronics. His music style could be described as primitive, abstract noise with a rhythmic twist. Hautamäki has performed live in numerous locations in Europe and North America. In HIAP Gallery Augusta Hautamäki will create an audiovisual performance as an ending to his four-month artist residency at HIAP Suomenlinna.

Mesak (Tatu Metsätähti, b. 1977 Turku) has been making electronic music for over twenty years. He has been operating both as a solo artist and in various groups - perhaps best known from the bands Mr Velcro Fastener and Ronskibiitti, and the Harmönia record label. While more visibly active around club oriented music, Mesak has always been producing more experimental sounds as well, however released or preformed less often. At HIAP Gallery Augusta Mesak will be playing a patch named “Control Frigid” with a modular synthesizer.
Hur Hur is sound and music performed with an ancient instrument made for modern purposes. The aim is to create a completely original sound and way to make music. Both raw, psychedelic joyful and terrifying. The project is Mr. Timo Viialainen playing electro acoustic alto hurdy gurdy as an experimental instrument. The project began in 2012 but this concert in HIAP Gallery Augusta will be the first to manifest the new Hur Hur sound.
